Arsenal bowed out of the Champions League  round of 16 for the 7th year consecutively after they lost gallantly to the German Champions 2-10 on aggregate
Arsenal started the game brightly trying to comeback from the 5-1 first leg defeat in Munich 3 weeks ago, and they got the goal they rightly deserve when Theo Walcolt blistering effort beat Manuel Neuer at his near post. Arsenal could have added a second  but they were wayward with their finishing in front of goal.
The Gunners started the same second half the same way they ended the first half with attack upon attack on the Bayern defence, but the game took a sharp turn when Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny was adjudged to have brought down Bayern striker Roberto Lewandowski which saw him got sent off by the referee, the subsequent penalty was sloted home by Lewandowski and from there on it became a question of how many goals Bayern will score, Arjen Robben added the second goal and Vidal made it 3 and Robben’s replacement Douglas Costa made it 4-1 and Vidal put in the final nail in the coffin with the 5th goal to see Bayern see out the tie and won it on a 10-2 aggregate.
In the other fixture, Real Madrid avoided an early scare from Napoli when they came back from a goal down to win in Napoles by 3 goals to 1 with Goals from Ramos and Alvaro Morata.
