FORMER SENATE LEADER WANTS COLLEAGUE TRIED FOR CERTIFICATE SCANDAL

Former Majority Leader of the Senate, Senator Ali Ndume, has called on

the upper chamber of the National Assembly to investigate the certificate

scandal involving his colleague who represents Kogi west senatorial

district, Senator Dino Melaye

Reports emanating from some news sources that earlier alleged that Sen.

Melaye did not graduate from the Ahmad Bello University Zaria, Kaduna

State but the law maker denied the allegation.

Sen Ndume, at the plenary today said similar cases in the National

Assembly were probed in the past.

Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, who presided

over the plenary, referred the matter to the Committee on Ethics, Privileges

and Public Petitions, which was asked to report back to the lawmakers in

four weeks.

Senate President; Dr Bukola Saraki could not preside over proceedings at

the senate due to his presence at the Code of Conduct Tribunal for his

ongoing trial.
