‎LAUTECH Students Prevent UTME Candidates from entering School Premises

It was a played out drama in the early hours of Monday as students of Ladoke Akintola

University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, the capital of Oyo State prevented candidates

who were posted to the school to write the 2017 UTME from gaining entrance to their

examination halls.

According to report, the aggrieved students were said to have carried out the action to alert the

world of the alleged refusal of the owners of the institution to resolve some of the problems

facing them.

Daily post gathered that the students mobilised themselves before the candidates’ arrival,

barricading every entrance to the school, the students also prevented teaching and non-

teaching staff of the institution from entering the school.

The institution is jointly owned by the State government of Oyo and Osun States respectively.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that the students had in January 2017 staged a protest to the Oyo

State Government House over the closure of their school for eight months.

The protest had created so much controversy in which the governor was accused of humiliating

the students but he later came out to give his side of the story.
