Residents of Odogunyan area in Ikorodu now live in palpable fear over the activities of restless youths in the area who are hunting down members of the badoo cult group.
Reports have it that buildings and other valuables worth millions of naira including a car are being vandalised on daily basis by the irate youths who claim to be acting on hints of activities of members of the dreaded Badoo cult.
A resident of Ikorodu, Mr. Jude Nwachukwu who shared his ordeal with news men called on the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, to help restore order in the area and stop the further destruction of properties in the community.
The victim who revealed how his building located at 9, Aliyu Adesanya Street, Odogunyan, Ikorodu, was vandalised by some residents in the area said he was more surprised that nothing was done to apprehend those that destroyed his house even after reporting the matter to the police.
He said all he got from the police was a promise to ensure his safety and that the perpetrators will be arrested.
Mr. Nwachukwu was however disappointed that the police has failed to visit his damaged building noting that instead, the police instructed him to take photographs of the building and bring it for further investigation.
He therefore called on the state Commissioner of Police to intervene in the matter, saying that he wants assurance of his safety to enable him stay in his house just as he wants compensation for the damages and those involved in this evil act apprehended.
