University of Lagos Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rahamon Bello has commended the staff of the
Institution who has been committing their financial resource towards the development of the
University.
Prof. Bello gave the commendation at the second edition of the Staff Donors Day held over the
weekend.
He said that as workers of the University who benefited materially through salaries, were to
ensure that the well-being of the University was assured.
The Vice Chancellor stated that if the University was healthy, staff would be assured of their
salaries and consequently the University would move in the right direction.
Prof. Bello told the staff that, considering the leadership status of the University, the name of the
Institution resonates both within and outside the country, thereby robbing on positively on the
staff anywhere they go.
He urged other members of staff who were still sitting on the side-line to do so as the number of
staff contributing into the scheme kept increasing.
The Bursar of the University Dr. Lateef Odekunle, represented by Mrs. Bisi Sereno on the
occasion disclosed that a total of 19Million Naira had so far been contributed by the staff of the
University.
The Director, Office of Advancement of the University Mrs. Ibironke Salaam in her remarks
described the members of staff who have been contributing to the scheme since its inception has
distinguished, selfless and socially responsible staff of the Institution urging other members to
emulate them.
The Chairman Advancement Board, Mutiu Sunmonu, represented by Prof. Akin
Oshinbogun, commended the management for creating an environment for staff to contribute by
giving back to the University.
