The wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, today (May 30) proceeded to

London, United Kingdom, to join her husband, President Muhammadu

Buhari who has been on medical vacation since May 7.

According to a statement by the spokesperson to the wife of the President,

Mrs. Bisi Olumide-Ajayi, the President’s wife was filled with gratitude to

Nigerians who have been supporting her husband with prayers for a speedy

recovery and safe return to the country.

Mrs. Buhari’s trip is coming three weeks after the President embarked on

his latest medical vacation which the presidency said is necessitated by the

need for a follow up consultation on the president’s medical treatment as

recommended by his doctors.

It would be recalled that the Special Adviser to the President on Media and

Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina had announced shortly before President

Muhammadu Buhari departed for London that the duration of his stay

would be determined by his doctors.

The President left shortly after receiving and addressing the 82 Chibok

girls who arrived the federal capital territory earlier in the day shortly after

they were released from the den of their Boko haram captors.

President Buhari had transmitted letters to both Chambers of the National

assembly notifying both the senate and the House of Representatives about

his trip and directing that the Vice President take charge of his functions

while absent.
